Nicole M. Crawford

Co-Project Director

Nicole M. Crawford is the Director and Chief Curator at the University of Wyoming Art Museum.  Previously the Vice President of Gallery Operations and Director at the Gerald Peters Gallery in Santa Fe. Her international projects include extensive work with cultural reconciliation through the display of objects and contemporary art in post-colonial/post-conflict societies. Crawford has a dual MA in Art History and Museum Studies and a BA in Art History from the University of Nebraska. She has a certificate in Arts Management from UCI Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California-Irvine and a certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell. Crawford is currently pursuing a PhD in Philosophy, Aesthetics and Art Theory from the Institute for Doctoral Studies in Visual Art. Her current research is focused on the role of collector in the acquisition, care, documentation and display of objects both through the collector’s vision and the responsibility of the museum. Crawford brings specialized knowledge in museum policy and administration as well as background in commercial art galleries and auction houses.

 
 
 
 
 
 

Darrell D. Jackson

Co-Project Director

Darrell D. Jackson, JD, PhD, is a Professor of Law at the University of Wyoming College of Law. He earned his PhD in Educational Foundations, Policy, and Practice from the University of Colorado (Boulder) School of Education and his JD from George Mason University School of Law. He practiced law as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Columbia and as an Assistant County Attorney in Fairfax County, Virginia. Dr. Jackson’s research interests surround supporting historically marginalized communities as they struggle to obtain an equitable share of power within truly democratic societies. His theoretical framework is formed at the intersections of three primary disciplines: law; education; and race, cultural, or ethnic studies; and primarily utilizes critical race theory.
